Parent Services

Inevitably, your child's college time will be a very significant period in your life, too. Some families, just as they did during the application process, continue to find an intermediary useful as they negotiate the experience of their child's college life. Experienced, compassionate input from your college counselor (who has come to know you as well as your child quite well during the intense and personal application process) can be a source of clarification for the issues your student faces bureaucratically and educationally in negotiating college life. It can also be a resource for ways for you to construct useful advice for your child, and to find new ways to think about your son or daughter's academic career in the light of post-college possibilities.

As parents, you too may benefit from qualified counsel on the vicissitudes of parenting your child supportively through the often-rocky academic and personal issues they will inevitably face -- and through the frequent discomforts as well as joys of home-comings and planning for winter and summer breaks.

We can also help to guide you regarding your interactions with your child's college or university. We can help you with the challenges, and point you towards the richest opportunities for your own personal development and satisfaction. We offer counseling on:

  • parenting a college student
  • relating to your student's college
  • considering post-college options

This service is available only to the parents of former college admissions students of College Goals.
