The College Goals Team

CAROLYN COMFORT, Paris representative for College Goals
  • 25 years experience in international education in Paris
  • Head of Preschool of Lennen Bilingual School
  • Parent of 2 Paris-raised graduates from American universities

As an American living in Paris since 1981, I have had over twenty-five years of experience within the international educational community, and I have worked in a number of different administrative capacities in international schools here. I have a strong interest in young people of all ages. I am acutely aware of the differences between a European education and that which is available in the United States, and I am committed to helping young people find the system that suits them best.

With an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Speech Pathology from American universities, I have worked both as an administrator and teacher in the area of special education and learning support. I am presently Head of Preschool at the Lennen Bilingual School where my aim is to provide these young children with a happy, secure environment and to foster an early love of learning. I also provide testing for Step One, Ltd, a British career guidance organization which helps students make informed educational and career decisions.

My work has always focused on enabling people to reach their potential and lead fulfilling, interesting lives. Through my own career experience as an educator, my contact with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds, and from observing and supporting my own children's very varied international educational pursuits, I have developed a real sensitivity toward students' concerns, and a desire to help young people to meet their individual aspirations.

In addition to organizing and hosting Joyce Reed's annual talks and meetings in Paris regarding higher education opportunities in the United States, I am available throughout the year to talk with French and English-speaking families in France and Europe regarding the services that are available to them through College Goals.
